This may be an occasional recurring feature here. This will be where I, Junior, make suggestions to humans regarding food preparation that would be of special benefit to cats.
I posted a while back about two evil forms of tuna…tuna in pouches, and tuna packed in oil. The pouches have NO tuna water for us to drink, and we don’t like drinking oil. So, I want to remind all of you cat-owned humans that tuna packed in water, in a can, is the ONLY kind you should ever THINK about buying.
But a lot of human food recipes call for the oil-packed tuna, and many humans do say that it tastes better to them. Mommy says she is going to make this tuna salad for dinner tonight, that she found in the Everyday Food magazine. It calls for canned tuna packed in olive oil…yuck!
I have a solution that will satisfy everyone. Before starting the recipe, open the cans of WATER-PACKED tuna, drain water into cat dishes. Place tuna in human’s bowl, and mix in a little extra virgin olive oil. You now have tuna packed in oil, and we have our yummie tuna water. Proceed with recipe as directed.
I hope Mommy will do this when she makes the salad tonight. She WILL tell Daddy to stop at the store, and make sure he gets WATER-PACKED tuna…right?
If not, I will have no choice but to gack up a hairball on Mommy’s pillow!
